easyMITS – Mobile Data Collection

Consultancy and design

Process and technology consultancy usually mark the start of a project. Barcotec analyses the area of application, recommends suitable equipment and procedures, and monitors international trends to inform customers about new technologies at an early stage. Equipment can be tested prior to purchase on request.

Planning and bespoke solutions

Barcotec structures its solutions around the actual processes in warehousing, production, retail, transport and field service. Each of the following processes represents a distinct use case with a tailored combination of devices and software.

Warehouse management
  • Goods Receipt: First point of contact in the warehouse. Scanners and mobile computers capture delivery notes, SSCC labels or EDI data; discrepancies and transport damage are reported directly to the ERP system with a photo and description. This prevents duplicate entries and data entry errors.
  • Putaway: Systematic putaway with automatic storage location allocation reduces the dock-to-stock time. 2D codes can carry additional data such as area, temperature zone or restricted storage indicators; forklift terminals with large displays show the optimal route. For deep-freeze and damp areas, there are MDE devices with heated displays, cold-resistant batteries and a high IP rating.
  • Order picking: Single- or two-stage. Large displays show walking routes and picking lists clearly; automatic alerts for incorrect items or under-/over-quantities reduce errors and unnecessary journeys.
  • Stocktaking: Cut-off date, spot-check or continuous stocktaking with end-to-end digitalisation and flexible counting strategies – precise and compliant with regulations.
Production control
  • Materials management: Recording of material flows and stock levels in production, integrated with ERP or MES systems.
  • Shop floor assistance: Worker guidance directly at the workstation. Wearable scanners (including for Industry 4. 0 applications) enable hands-free, faster working with direct system feedback.
  • Product labelling: Labelling to meet legal requirements and ensure end-to-end traceability. Labels are automatically generated via real-time integration of ERP, MES or WMS , labels are generated automatically; codes such as DataMatrix or SGTIN carry more information in a small space. Labels are printed on-site or supplied ready-made by Barcotec according to specifications.
