Barcotec expands its management team

Alexander Humer is to become the second managing director

With effect from 1 May 2026, Alexander Humer was appointed as the second managing director under commercial law. He will thus join Alexander Rainsberger, who has been the sole managing director of the company for many years and has built it into the market leader in Austria.

Growth requires structural development

Since its foundation in Salzburg in 1989, Barcotec has continued to grow and is now the market leader in Austria in the fields of Auto-ID, enterprise mobility and mobile device management. As the company has grown, so too have the regulatory and operational requirements – such as the implementation of the NIS 2 Directive, with which the company is already fully compliant, and the increasing alignment with ITIL structures among customers. The expansion of the management team reflects this development.

Clear division of responsibilities

The responsibilities within the dual leadership structure are clearly defined: Alexander Rainsberger continues to be responsible for finance, technology and administration. Alexander Humer assumes commercial responsibility for sales and marketing – areas for which he has already been responsible within the management team.

About Alexander Humer, MSc

Alexander Humer completed his Master’s degree in Business, Management and Marketing at the University of Klagenfurt. He has been with Barcotec for over 17 years: he started as a sales manager, took over as area manager for Vienna, Lower Austria and Burgenland, and was most recently responsible for sales and marketing as a member of the management team.
