Transparent traffic routes with Barcotec terminals

The Port of Linz is one of the largest transhipment centres with a central location on the upper Danube. Connected to international transport routes such as road, rail and water, the location impresses with its proximity to the airport and the city.

The diverse range of services extends from container terminal, trading and tank port with all the necessary handling facilities, warehouses and general cargo halls, special warehouses for frozen and hazardous goods to barge services.
On an area of around 90,000 m², containers are moved with the help of cranes, reach stackers and forklift trucks. Every second is precious and orientation on the site is the be-all and end-all. To meet these requirements, Linz AG Hafen relies on logistics terminals from Barcotec. The cooperation came about after a visit to a Barcotec event.

After the extensive test phase was completed, the decision was made in favour of logistics terminals of the DLOG brand. These fulfil the requirements, whereby the size is an important criterion: Since the terminals are mounted in the driver's compartment of the truck, the larger the display, the smaller the field of vision of the truck driver. In addition, the terminal must also be able to withstand a lot in terms of robustness: high humidity, sunlight, shocks, vibration and moisture.
Whereas in the past the instructions were communicated via radio and telephone, now the location of the parking area is automatically transmitted to the system via GPS. Since the software is easy to use, the motto was "learning by doing" and lengthy training was a thing of the past.
The head of Container Terminal Linz AG Hafen is delighted: "With BARCOTEC we have not only found the optimal solution, but also a reliable partner."
